defy: words in bloom
Every act of creation is an act of defiance. A willful insistence to coax ideas into fruition. A rebellious perseverance to tend intimate feelings, to cultivate desire despite an overgrowth of barriers. From this idea germinates Defy: Words in Bloom – an evening of new work by local women writers.
nuri: chaos energy
willing travelers will weave (while the more reluctant observe) a journey/prayer/spell from the space between possibilities, rooted in future-past and manifesting in liberatory catharsis and expansion. chaos energy is an expression of antidisciplinarian bliss of song and spell and the magic of formlessness and void. ancestral memory of unwritten futures serve as rich soil for communal creation and generation, a mote in time/space which, invariably, sparks innumerable others.

molly and nuri boldy go
molly and nuri boldy go into greenfield’s famously queer-friendly community-run arts venue, 10 forward, with a joyously chaotic double bill of queer and trans artists straddling genre lines including incisive comedy and heartfelt, and sometimes raucous music.
Molly brings an electric and cutting sense of humor and drama to accompany her strikingly beautiful voice and authentic storytelling. nuri blends comedy and storytelling with deeply introspective and unexpectedy loud songcraft.

salon: a seeing rainbows co-creation workshop experience
Salon is emergence* in action. It's hard to describe if you haven't participated before, think one part workshop, one part community hangout, one part transcendent spiritual experience, one part performance. Maybe. Salon is different every time — because salon is emergence in action. Come prepared to create, to share, but most of all, to listen.
Bring your transportable creative work in progress–writing, journaling, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, songwriting, monologuing, dance, drawing. You may have an opportunity to work on it and/or share, but you also might not. Folx of all identities, backgrounds, skill levels, and experience are encouraged to participate.
*Emergence, as defined by liberatory activist, artist, and author adrienne maree brown, is sometimes defined as “the way complex systems and patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple interactions. it emphasizes critical connections, authentic relationships, listening with the body and the mind.”
